Join the Lily String Quartet for a concert of music from, and inspired by Russia. Haydn\’s Opus 33 quartets are often known as the “Russian” quartets, having been written for Grand Duke Paul of Russia, and its No. 2 is the famous “Joke” quartet, taking its name from the jocular coda of the last movement. The programme also features the lyricism of the Second Quartet by Alexander Borodin, one of Russia’s “Mighty Five”.
